I do have a few more pictures, but they're total crap, since I, being a short little Chinese girl surrounded by 6ft...Caucasian guys...one with a damn afro...it was rather difficult for me to take the pictures.
The first hour was standing there...waiting for the opening band. Some a holes behind me started nudging me forward ( I was about in the 4th row from the front), eventually pulling a bit of my hair, I got pissed, and some people next to me were doing pda...too much pda when you're so close to total strangers. So...I walked away from that area (later Hamish, the drummer would throw his drumsticks at that area, AND Craig (frontman) sprayed water to that area as well). Those motherf-----. Their conversation represented the assholery....douchebagery of some "hardcore" fans. They began criticizing the audience on the venue, saying everyone came with their girlfriends and these same people would obviously speak like this: "like...omg I can't believe I'm watch the streaks? no the fags....wait....no that's me" and how these stupid people would post the pics on myspace after the show. they also spoke of taking drugs....seeing The Vines again...it was so boring there....I put most of my attention to their conversation, since those assholes were so close to me anyway, I'm sure they probably even wanted me to hear it, thinking I was one of those lame people. Of course, I could be just...paranoid about that. But, they were the same assholes who started a mini mosh pit, I joined in for a few minutes...and fell, not hard, but that's ok, I can now say...yes...I've been in a mosh pit. Not many of the other girls joined in...they were all in the front, looking at Craiggy. When he started to reach for their hands, they all started yelling his name, and he smiled and looked at Ryan (you know...like...."man, the ladies love me..."). What a cheeky monkey. In response, I thought the best way to make someone else from The Vines feel "loved" is to to yell their name as well, and I did so to Ryan. I just yelled his name...hopefully he heard, so he wouldn't feel so sad that no girlies like him. :( I like that Brad and Ryan both wore hats. They were almost like twins, wear a coat and a hat, with the same hairstyle. Funny. And each were on the opposite side of the stage.
ANYWAY, the opening act....I cannot remember their name, but they did sound a bit like The Vines. If I ever find that ticket, I might just say who they are. Sorry. The end of "Spaceship" by The Vines is a rough summary of that opening band's music.
They played half new songs...Autumn Shade 3!....and the other half their singles plus ms.jackson and fuk yeh...and going gone (the opener). Their concerts are much better, Craig still ruins the drum set and guitar, but that's ok. He sings now! Instead of screaming...he's singing clearly.
I loved it. My brother wanted to leave right after the concert though...so I couldn't get an autograph or a picture, but that's ok. Next time...hopefully.
I tells ya, Craig is still young. Talking about how radio and tv is shit, trying to you know....change the world with his words...getting the audience to say kill the president...oh...teenage angst. Oh and he only smoked a little.
So....Spring break is almost over...literally hours now. Hfm.
I did manage to do some art thank god, for the art show......another one....on the 10th. The day AFTER my birthday.
I believe these are it. I'm still not done with the ballet girl by vega, and I won't finished it anytime soon. I've discovered I'm very harsh on the clothes part of her...it will take me a while to make it look like CLOTH than jagged metal.
The first one was first a badly drawn sketch of this here:
I did the sketch late at night...so my perspective on anything was a bit off. So today, I just went over my pencil scribbles with permanent marker scribbles. Makes it look "fancier". He just looks like a possible chick and is pissed now.
The next one is that technique with the lines that can make an object, but I just did a head instead of some fruit.
The 3rd one 1st row is from this.
The watercolor one is that of a totoro clock I have. I just made him fluffier and farting. The fart was so powerful, it pushed him into the air. Totoro is one of my favorite childhood memories. I have a bootleg of that show...movie...whatever it was from China town. I remember loving it. I should watch it again.
The 1st on the 2nd row^. Yup, pee and poo dolls from...Japan I believe. so creepy. waste as a cuddle toy. mmm hm!
The last one is ink....inspired by dave from blur, the drummer. I was practicing drawing w/o using an actual image...so I thought better to use a face I've seen...but not studied close enough to remember everything on their face. So I used Dave. Also, he has some sort of dumpyness...it sucks you barely see him in those early blur music videos. He wore glasses as get got older, mind you, that's why I have them there. It's not intended to look like him....it'd be nice if it did though.
Oh...I'm ALMOST obsessed with Supergrass now. It's just starting. Gaz....looks like a monkey...yes but a smile that could kill thousands.
Made my day.
ah mahhh
So much for a Chinese New Year. then again, all of my Chinese New years have been rather plain, and I don't expect anything more than that. Today....school....chinese candy....regular food mommy makes/ orders...roast duck, chicken...believe it or not, yeah it's sorta normal for me to eat that. I don't know why. Mommy likes duck I guess.
Oh....thanks to Gary Lightbody, I am....infatuated w/ the Irish accent. It is utterly...irresistible. Any song he will sing, as long as that little Irish accent pops its little head in to supply song Irish delight...oh it's great. Yeah, accents. One or the other, there is just something about it.
Oh my brother has finally gotten tickets from ticketmaster for a concert: The Vines. He and I are attending...it'll be a bit weird, he won't want to stay to wait for the guys after the concert nor go early for to see them arrive. Perhaps I should find someone who can go and provide a ride instead. I better do something quick though. ahh....THE VINES. mmmm HMMMM!
ok, now I must, must, must do some hw. the beginning of this month has been nothing but a lazy bummed me playing online games on msn. Yup, msn online games They're just so fun....dammit guadalupe introduced me to them and now I just want to play them all day. Alas, I have to draw a flyer for blocwork w/ mini jenny, get ready for badminton (I am very very sore now from it), finish my unfinished art for the blocwork uhh show? on the 22nd...and catch up with whatever I'm missing. Oh I must finish a book...by next week, this weekend is going to be packed. oh and those pillows for the service club I'm in, Kokua Lima...ahh. I'm Treasurer by the way. What a title....not really. :)
I'll skip the words...onto the easy stuff.
#1: my Cockatiel Jenny, but vectored and not yet done. You can see bits of the actual image that haven't been covered. He's sitting on a bowl, with napkins on it, next to a hot pink mirror with balls. I'm planning to use this as my vox banner up top, replacing the wonderful Gary Lightbody pulling his strap.
#2: My entry into the Alhambra High School Badminton uniform shirt design. It's not great, but it's not as boring as it could be. See if they choose mine, then I'll get a free shirt this year. wo0t!
#3: This is a Weezer-chronology of their "work", like the actual sites..umm recording history. Had Karl wanted something more pazzazzy, then I assume it'd be along those lines. I saw the picture of the guys, I had already colored it and the effects, so I just turned it into a banner. Then I saw that it had good potential as a website. Nothing fancy, just a log of all history. I really need to take some web design classes.
And that's probably as far as my art life will go...for now.
Today I went to the park to play Badminton. Oh the muscles are gonna be sooo sore tomorrow morning. SO SORE. I'm a bit rusty at the game, and I don't know where the future will take me.
EDIT: The day after this post.
I am hurting so bad. The left arm, both ribs, back sides, and thighs hurt from playing Badminton. Yes, Badminton. Getting out of bed was hell.
Forgot to include this as "art". There's another one too, John Lennon, but I'll scan it later.
Mind the creases from the paper..This is a drawing of Eric Wareheim from Tim and Eric. I had to rush a bit after though for the stupid art club's pathetic title of a "gallery/fashion show" Overall, I'm proud of this one. :)
Original pic (above), I got it from Eric's myspace picture. It was eventually used as a character in Awesome Show, which is also why his beard is undoubtedly, fake. My rendition of this image is slightly off, but I hope I somewhat captured those cute puffy cheeks.
A WHOLE LOT!
HEY! Jonny won the Critic's Choice for best Music, for There Will Be Blood! It was presented by Snoop Dogg. I wonder how astonished Jonny would feel if he knew Snoop Dogg just presented his award.
I predict, Michael Cera and that whole crew of funny men, who all are connected to eventually....Will Ferrell, are gonna make this year...and the next and the next pretty full of movies. they just keep getting all these comedy movies with the same actors..I question if all of their movies are going to be very funny. I know one thing though, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, AND John--especially John C. Reilly, AND duh, Bob Odenkirk all are related to Tim and Eric.

Zach tickles Michael! ^

I think I might just love all of these guys. This group of funny men are funny. I knew Jack White was Elvis! MAN! I saw...Walk Hard on Friday night. It's rated R for a reason. I don't know how John C. Reilly could hold a smile with the roadie's marriage toys. three inches away from his face. Yucky.
One of the guys from Upright Citizens Brigade, SNL people were part of Dewey Cox's band. It was pretty darn funny. The bandmate he's in "love" with, the bandmate who gives out the drugs, and the bandmate whose wife he bangs. Beatles scene was great. Impressions of them weren't that great though...but the jokes..did make fun of those beatles right! Absurdity and the broken sinks! I think Elvis broke a lot of sinks...it was in that TV movie about him with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as Elvis. You see John C. Reilly's blue eyes and you're sold. Oh and the hairstyles! :) Great parodies...really great.
Dr. Steve Brule does it again! I love his wonky voice, and he has a great singing voice. Walk Hard's melody is still playin in my head. That's how catchy it is. The music wasn't bad either. Lyrics were commercial, and the music was great. Especially the "Let's Duet" song.
I love John C. Reilly. You just can't hate the man!

oh holy mother, my back aches.
oh lord. oh for the love of mercy. ooooh! my back rips in sorrow. and my head falls from the weight
So I have a school art show tomorrow night. I haven't finished many of the ones I wanted to present. I guess it'll be used for the Spring show. Oh well.
I have this World History AP study guide that is feeding all of my energy like a bloodthirsty beast. I've only defined eight people...from Gregory I to Louis XI and it has sucked out so much. I don't know how it is capable but that damn thing! from hell!
So, away from all the texts, I'm going to located English cities, and blah blah as another part of the study guide. It's all due on Thursday, and this whole hunk of cheese called the Middle Ages to the English Monarchy and France is on Thursday as well. Oh holy mother, I have good reason to say your name! He went over it with us...maybe for 2 weeks now...and the 500 or so years of history has been packed like rotten sardines in a tin can box in my head. so many Henrys and Edwards all at the same time.
I saw I Am Legend last night. It was too short for an epic you're alone in the world plot, and the end said god has a plan...basically. the book was TOTALLY different. book was more kick ass, the last words of the story was "I am legend"---perfect ending. Vampires could talk, the guy ate steak all the time, and killed vampires in their sleep in the day. Nothing like this movie version, in act the I am legend meaning is all different-he finds a cure so he's the legend, book version was last human ever--that's literally legend enough. I liked Will Smith's acting, but that's as far as it got.
Man, I'm still in Sweeney Todd whimsical land. those songs in the film grow on you, and when I hear it , I remember the scenes when it occurred. I think because I lost my cell phone, all full of guilt and disappointment, the movie cheered me up, at least got me distracted. I got to see five or six throats all right after the other, sadness in other characters, make myself feel happy. I do want to see that movie again. I well enjoyed it all.
I've finished christmas shopping. I don't enjoy Christmas shopping. It's all me me me me my friends. :) I don't enjoy the whole presents thing really...I'd rather get my own thing...on my own. I'm sure others would too. Some put thought when buying gifts for others, but when others don't, and laugh as if it isn't important anyway--it's the "thought" that counts...what the hell? for someone to not put any thought into a gift for a person is just rude. Crap or not, at least put a smile on their face because they know where you took that idea of a gift from. Just candy....cookies? that's it? How about some cookies that have some important date, or say toilet to reference to that toilet you both saw somewhere...yadda yadda. Putting no thought..ruins it all.
Oh last saturday was Rose Parade making. they were more strict, frankly...less people from other schools the better. I hope next time I go there will be less people and less hard-asses.
Happy Holidays
ok so I displayed some of my art in the school library. Then I'm told someone, an aide for a student saw it, loved my charcoal curtain picture, and wants to purchase it. I'll elaborate more later. with a picture of it. I'm numb. literally it's freakin cold..the fans wind is hitting my wet hair. It's cold.
oh and bear for Kokua Lima sweatshirts.
finished it. I'll make more adjustments depending on whatever is needed.
Wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. Took a lot of time though. All photoshop. First I drew it, put my drawing into the comp, traced it over with the PEN TOOL (so Jenny if you're reading this...I can only tell you what I used...it's hard to explain and teach you how to use these things, so don't ask me in detail--just play with the tools), stroke with black, brush size 2-4px, basic brush style (a simple circle), fill in w/ color. For the can, same thing, but when coloring, use the DODGE tool and BURN to add the effect. The text, "Loki Cola"? font from dafont.com, you with can wrap it as a text layer, OR RASTERIZE the text layer (right click "rasterize" which turns it to a reg. layer) and warp it by clicking (CTRL-T) there will be a wavy type of icon up there on the right, pull the corners the inside corners of the squares to desired "warp"
Man I'm cooooold.
How do I get Friendster updates from this guy who happens to have my e-mail, but I rarely know when I don't even have a Friendster?
I just don't understand that.
Ah...Thanksgiving. We get a turkey, but we don't necessarily celebrate it. My family sees Thanksgiving as a day where we eat turkey. Where we might eat a little bit more food than usual. A time of "family" bonding. Our definition of "family" bonding is eating at the dinner table. Something we do every day, but because it is Thanksgiving we are more or less forced to really sit at the dinner table. Perhaps the only difference between a day when it's not Thanksgiving and the holiday itself, is all but the Turkey, rice stuffing, and the title. That's all. It might sound a bit boring or whatnot, but for my family, and for me, I find it normal.
I'm not going to Black Friday though. I never do, and one day maybe I will.
Ghost Hunters marathon all day today? Pretty nice. Yes, they are re-runs, but I can't stop myself.
I feel like a geek when I look up Torchwood and Doctor Who and go to their fake websites and read whatever etc. Torchwood's torchwood.org etc etc is very good. They make it seem true, giving little profiles, transcripts, records, and pictures of "cases". So past episodes of some characters from the 1940s have their own profiles, photoshopped pictures of them in their time period and fake newspapers talking about them. There are Doctor Who comics, and at one point, I might stumble across one, and I might get hooked. I'm not sure. I can't predict the future now. I question the idea of rifts, and aliens because of these shows. It's fantastic. Like the life after death topic. When you die, there is nothing. No one to meet, its all darkness. It's a bit like LOST, there are symbols and people have pasts that are slowly revealed..Jack Harkness isn't who he says he is?!. no...couldn't be. No, everyone knew that in Doctor Who, so it's no surprise. But is he the Face of Boe, the big head in the jar, full of wisedom and knowledge? I mean he calls Doctor Who "old friend" and he's not alone before he dies. oh drats, if I only watched more episodes.
It's so freakin cool man. :) There's depth, even though it's people are sometimes celebrities, and is a bit overrated sometimes, sometimes the episodes are pretty weak, but there's depth. And that attracts me to watch more.
School..it's very tough. I just can't write good essays anymore. I'm unorganized, I'm scared, I'm blurbing ideas and examples that aren't strong enough to prove my thesis. I'm going downhill. And I'm not happy with that. Everything seems like it's going too fast. I've realized if I was given an interesting topic I actually like to write about, like feminism, I can finish it with confidence. I have so much passion to get across my message, it's like the whole don't wear a bra, grow your leg hairs out comes out type of protester is released. I did it for history's DBQ all in one class period and it was about three cultures whose traditional idea of a woman's role changes over time. I was simply amazed, I don't usually finish any essay about analyzing texts under one class period. I'm usually on the beginning of the second or the ending of the first body by that time, and I still get a rather average grade. This one...I had a perfect score and the teacher told me, he would've used it in one of his good examples had he had the time. I was very very proud, so proud my happiness glowed throughout the whole day. I even forgot about that essay, and thought to myself, Why am I so carefree today? and realized it was that beautiful grade I got. I had a higher grade than a girl who wrote the essay as homework...yes she cheated..in a way. We knew what the topic was, and we had to analyze all the texts the day before. She thought we also had to write the essay for homework, and she was right. Fortunately, she was a selected few who only knew that, so the majority, who didn't know it was homework, had to write it before the bell rang. So she just turned in hers, all nice and purrrty, as I turned in a scribbled, messy essay many many many minutes after. If only, if only life could be that good all the time.
Ah...just had to post that. :)
Lifts my spirits up, especially when I have to do another essay for history...another DBQ, a take home kind, about Roman and Han's views on technology. This is not my type of essay. It'll be hard for me. I'm just not confident enough. After looking at my crappy English essays, what hope is there for me?
Here is the bear for my animal themed service club, Kokua Lima. He's going to hold a can that says Kokua Lima. It's going to be on our black sweatshirts. Hopefully it'll look great
Oh, today is Ville Valo's (frontman of HIM) birthday. I don't know how old he is now, around the mid 30's range. For those who haven't heard of HIM (I don't know how you can't)....here is a song, called Passion's Killing Floor. I think it is a single, or going to be one, and it grows on you. Even the "and to evil me make love" part, because to me, that made no sense, but it does grow on you. I can't seem to upload the whole dong, Vox isn't letting me. It's not too big for it to upload, it is mp3, there should be no issues, but alas, there is.
the last two are previous posts of songs, one is Right Here in My Arms, an older HIM song. And a cover of a famous Finnish singer's old classic, by the Agents and Ville Valo called My Window Princess. His voice is very lovely. Always will be.
